A war veteran is a person who has served in the military during times of conflict or war. This term can refer to anyone who has seen active duty, regardless of their specific role or rank within the armed forces. War veterans have experienced firsthand the hardships and dangers of combat, as well as the challenges of serving away from home for extended periods of time. Many return from service with physical and emotional wounds that can last a lifetime.
